Welcome to Hushabye Farm; Repost

I am taking part in Minis & Mum‘s lovely Linky this week where we are reposting our very first blog post, it’s hard to believe it’s over a year and a half since I began this blog, it has been such a joy to write and I have met ( virtually) so many wonderful people through it.

So here it is…my very first blog post.

Welcome to Hushabye Farm

Welcome to Hushabye Farm, my name is Elizabeth and I live here with my husband Paul, our 4 children aged from 6 down to 18 months. We also share this little piece of heaven with 2 dogs, 2 very naughty goats, 1 pot bellied pig, 12 ducks, 2 turkeys, 2 geese, 40 hens, 2 doves and most importantly 15 Alpacas.

Hushabye Farm began 6 yrs ago when we bought a few acres at the foothills of the Slieve Blooms on which to build our dream home, the Alpacas came about when I left my husband wander freely for 30 mins at the Tullamore Show 3 yrs ago and he returned having bought 3 Alpacas and so our few acres has grown into a small holding of about 15 acres. Our Alpaca herd along with our family has grown exponentially over the last few years and we hope to welcome 5 new cria ( baby Alpacas) this coming summer. The Alpacas are my husbands baby to be honest and he is very much the expert so I hope to get him on board to blog about the ups and downs of Alpaca farming.

My main love is cooking and I hope to blog about the food I love to cook and eat.

With full time jobs and a busy hobby farm and 4 young kids our house is busy and slightly crazy but we are carving out our version of ‘ the good life’ and welcome you along to share our journey

    1. Thank you Sara. We named it after the song in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Hushabye Mountain, it is one of the children's favourite films.
